Impromptu Memorial at FDU Honors Slain Woman

Flowers appeared as if out of nowhere as university continues to mourn Rosaria Andraka.

A collection of flowers stands outside the office where Rosaria Andraka worked as an honors program coordinator at Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ.com reported.

The flowers began to appear not long after word came that Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp. The body of her husband — Chester, 46, who had committed suicide — was also found there, Knapp said.

In the days that have followed a number of FDU students have taken to the Internet to post tributes to Rosaria Andraka.

Andraka had been with the university for more than eight years, according to her LinkedIn page.

Authorities said she was murdered and that her spouse committed suicide. The prosecutor's office has not released information regarding the circumstances that might have led to the killing—and to this point, officials have not said that Andraka was shot by her husband.

Chester Andraka, a retired Caldwell police officer and security official for Novartis, also was a part-time adjunct professor for FDU. The couple's children are students at the university.

The impromptu memorial appeared out of the blue, FDU Associate Provost Brian Mauro told NJ.com. He said students, teachers and staffers contributed to the tribute out of gratitude for all Rosaria Andraka did for students there.
