iPods, Cameras and GPS Devices Stolen from Hotel Parking Lot

Thefts reported at Embassy Suites on New Year's Day.

A cell phone, travel bag,  cash and various electronic devices were stolen New Year's Day from five apparently cars parked in the lot of on Parsippany Boulevard, according to police.

The owners believed their cars were unlocked. All  cars showed no signs of forced entry, although a 2010 Mercury was found with its hood and trunk open. Stolen from that car was a TomTom GPS unit (reported value $300) along with two travel bags containing books valued at $50.The thefts occurred between 1:45 p.m. and 6 p.m.

  •  The driver of a 2006 Scion reported stolen a portable TomTom GPS unit valued at $150, an iPod valued at $180 and a digital camera with an unknown value.
  • A third vehicle, described only as a red four-door GMC , was entered and two Garmin GPS units with a total value of $300 were stolen. 
  • A 2005 Honda Element was missing a wallet containing $200, an iPod and a cell phone. The total loss is estimated at $550. 
  • A 2008 Volkswagon was entered and a Garmin GPS unit with a value of $150 and $10 cash was reported missing.
