Man Caught After Allegedly Robbing Parsippany Bank

County prosecutor says arrest was made in Secaucus on Route 3.

A third bank robbery in a two-month span has occurred in Parsippany, but this time an alleged robber was arrested, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi.

The on Route 46 was robbed at 11 a.m. on Wednesday by a man who fled the scene, Bianchi said. The man did not show a weapon, Bianchi said. According to Bianchi, a man was stopped and arrested by Secaucus Police on Route 3 without incident.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Parsippany Police Department, Morris County Sherriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section and the FBI are investigating, Bianchi said.

This is the third bank robbery within the last 60 days. On July 20, a man  inside a Pathmark on Route 46. On Aug. 27, the Provident Bank on Smith Road .

It was also the sixth robbery in the county in the same time frame, with one taking place in  in July and two in Lincoln Park, one on  and one on . In multiple cases, a man in a hat was reported to have robbed the banks.
