Man Faces Drug Charges After Found Slumped Over Wheel of Car at Wawa

E. Hanover resident charged with drug possession, driving under influence of a CDS.

An East Hanover man faces multiple drug charges after he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle in the parking lot Tuesday morning, said Thursday.

Mario Franciosa, 26, was charged with possession of a narcotic without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle without valid insurance coverage.

According to police, Officer David Cavaliere found Franciosa slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle Tuesday morning at about 6:50 a.m.

Officer Joseph Kornas observed two straws with a powdery residue on them in a plastic bag on the passenger seat near another plastic bag that contained two blue pills, police said. 

Franciosa was arrested and transported to the Morris County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.
