UPDATE: Resident Sees Body Pulled From Lake Parsippany

Authorities not yet releasing details, but woman describes what she saw from her home.

A Lake Shore Drive resident said she saw rescue workers pull a body out of Lake Parsippany Monday morning.

Shannon Cullinan saw a crew of ambulances, emergency squad workers and law enforcement vehicles pull up at a walkway along the lake near Bogota Drive Monday morning at about 10 a.m.

From her window overlooking the lake, she saw a body bag along the side of the lake being carried away on a stretcher, she said.

A few days ago, Cullinan said she heard helicopters scouring the area when Lake Parsippany was frozen. After Sunday's heavy rains, this was the first day in a long time the lake wasn't ice-covered, she said.

Earlier Monday morning, Capt. Jeffrey Paul, spokesman for Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, said the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, Parsippany Police, Morris County Sheriff's Office and the Morris County Medical Examiners Office are investigating a death in the township.

The prosecutor's office did not say whether the death is considered suspicious, the time of death or location of the body.

Paul said more information will be released "as soon as it is appropriate to do so."

Patch will update this story when more details are available.
