Jewelry, $14K in Cash Stolen in Parsippany Burglaries

Two break-ins that occurred between Friday and Monday are under investigation.

The Parsippany Police Department is investgating two home robberies taht occurred between Friday and Monday.

Officers were called to a home on Leah Way to investigate a burglary at 11:50 p.m. on Friday.

The residents said they left the home around 4 p.m. and returned around 11 p.m. to find that their bedrooms had been gone through. A jewelry box along with about $14,000 in cash were reported stolen, police said.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigative Division processed the scene and believe that the burglar entered the home through a bathroom window, said Community Relations Officer Earl Kinsey.

Officers were called to another burglary Monday at 7:16 p.m. on River Drive. The resident said she was out of her home for approximately four hours, police said.

“When she returned, she found that items that were normally located in her jewelry box were found strewn around the bedroom,” said Kinsey.

There were pry marks on the outside of the bedroom window, police said.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Department again responded and processed the scene for evidence.
