Man Accused of Wielding Knife at Parsippany Bar

Weapon found in man's pocket after witnesses reported incident, police report.

A Morristown man inside a Parsippany bar was arrested when police found a knife in his pocket and were told he brought a second one to the business, authorities reported.

Police responded to a call from the Basket of Cheer Bar on North Beverwyck Road for a report of a man with a knife, police said. When officers arrived, they found Andrew Grucko, 48, fit the description reported to the dispatcher, police said.

Grucko was ordered to walk toward the officers, and an investigation revealed he had a knife in his pocket, police said. Witnesses told police Grucko had a second knife, which was confiscated by another customer and turned over to the bartender, police said.

Grucko was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. While at police headquarters, Grucko attempted to destroy his paperwork and was charged with obstructing the administration of the law, police said.

He was released with a court appearance.
