Probe Continues into Human Bones Found

County prosecutor says foul play is likely involved in the case.

Local law enforcement is still investigating near Entin Road in Parsippany.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi told News 12 New Jersey that this is the first case in the county in which the bones of a human being were similarly found.

"Clearly, it seems to us at this point of time...that foul play is at issue here," Bianchi said.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Section,  and the Morris County Medical Examiner are all involved in the probe.

The prosecutor told the Daily Record that a forensic anthropologist likely will be brought in to help the county medical examiner determine the age, gender, race and ethnicity of the remains.

At this point, the only thing officials can say for sure is that the bones are human.

The remains were discovered Thursday around noon by a cleaning company employee when he and a co-worker were clearing garbage from the brush line on Sylvan Way near a string of corporate buildings not far from the Entin Road exit of Interstate 287.

Ivan Gaviria, an employee of The Leon's Cleaning and Services, confirmed with Patch that he found a garbage bag containing what appeared to be human bones.

Officials say that there is no danger to the public.
