Parsippany Boosts Police Force With 9 New Officers

Total count now at 96 squad members, still 17 less than fully staffed, report says.

Parsippany’s police presence increased by 10-percent recently as the township welcomed nine new officers to the squad.

The department’s head count stood at 87, according to dailyrecord.com, and will now be up to 96. The highest total allowed by ordinance in the township is 113, the report said.

Seven of the new officers were sworn in at a ceremony at the end of June, and two more are scheduled to be sworn in on July 10, the report said.
