Parsippany Firefighters Battle Two Lake Hiawatha Blazes

One was a garage fire on Sunday and the other was a house fire on Saturday.

A fire in an attached garage in Lake Hiawatha on Sunday brought out Lake Hiawatha Fire Department, Parsippany Fire District 4,Parsippany District 5 Fire Department along with Boonton Fire Department as the R.I.C. (Rapid Intervention Company), according to according to Lake Hiawatha Fire Department.

The fire was put out quickly at 24 Beechwood Avenue.

Lake Hiawatha (Fire District 4) and District 5 responded to a Lake Hiawatha house fire on Saturday evening around 7:20 p.m.

Upon arriving at 170 River Drive, Asst. Chief Brian Cleary saw a working fire with fire on the first floor and requested Parsippany Troy-Hills Fire District 6 for a ladder company,” according to Lake Hiawatha FD.

Boonton Township Fire Dept. came as the Rapid Intervention Company while Parsippany's Rockaway Neck Volunteer First Aid Squad stood by as EMS. The Parsippany Rescue and Recovery Unit arrived for their air truck and to bring the township rehab trailer. The Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department covered District 4's firehouse and the Pine Brook Volunteer Fire Department covered District 5.

Chief RJ Briant arrived and took over. District 1 and Pine Brook's Fire Department were requested as well. 

"Thank you to all mutual aid received,” said Lake Hiawatha Fire Department.
