Parsippany Police Break Alleged Pot Distribution Scheme

A Parsippany woman faces charges including possession and distribution of marijuana after being busted Monday evening in her Lake Hiawatha home, according to .

Department spokesperson Sgt. Yvonne Christiano reports Michelle Scacco, 21, is now free on $10,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

Police say an investigation related to a residential burglary on Knoll Road led Officer Matthew LaManna to Scacco's Knoll Road home. After the officer was allowed into the home by another resident, he reportedly detected the strong odor of suspected raw marijuana emanating from Scacco's bedroom.

According to police, a search warrant was obtained and in the search that followed, investigators found materials used in preparing for the sale and distribution of marijuana, including two digital scales, a grinder, small packages what police suspect is pot and some partially smoked cigarettes that authorities believe is marijuana. 

Scacco was arrested and later released upon posting bail. In addition to possession and distribution of marijuana, the woman faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and distribution within 500 feet of a public park.
