Parsippany Police Collar Unlicensed Driver and Passenger

The following arrest information was supplied by the Parsippany Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A traffic stop Thursday morning led to the arrests of two individuals on various traffic offenses.

Octavia Anderson, 32, of Plainfield, and 30-year-old Newark resident Tariq Dixon were arrested after officers spotted them traveling along Route 10 West in a vehicle that appeared to be missing license plates, according to department spokesperson Sgt. Yvonne Christiano.

Police said Officer Jason Lubeck was on patrol at about 8:15 a.m. when he spotted a 1993 Jeep moving at a high rate of speed. After stopping the Jeep, which apparently lacked plates, the officer reportedly noticed an expired temporary registration in the vehicle's rear window.

Anderson, who police said was driving the Jeep, was released after receiving summonses for speeding, driving on a suspended license and operating an unregistered vehicle.

According to police, Dixon, the Jeep's passenger, was found to have an active $190 traffic warrant out of East Orange. He was arrested and then released on the authority of East Orange Police Department. Dixon now awaits a court date, police said.
