Attempted Break-In, Stolen iPad Probed by Cops

Parsippany Police Department is seeking information from the public on two seperate incidents on Aug. 12 and 13.

Parsippany police officers are looking into an attempted burglary and a theft that occurred in recent days.

Officer Peter Kolln was called to a North Beverwyck Road apartment on Sunday after a resident told police someone had tried to break in.

“Officer Kolln observed that a window facing the sidewalk located on North Beverwyck Road exhibited numerous pry marks, and the screen was bent outward,” said Parsippany Community Relations Officer Earl Kinsey. “It does not appear that anyone was able to gain access into the residence.”

The resident believes the attempted burglary occurred between 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday, said Kinsey.

Police are also investigating a theft that occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 at Fairfield Suites on Rt. 46.

“Officer Gian Cacioppo is investigating a reported theft of an iPad 2 from a table located in the lobby,” said Kinsey.

The estimated value of the device is $700, he said.
