Parsippany Police Investigating String of Thefts

Tools, electronics, motorcycle stolen in separate incidents.

The Parsippany Police Department is investigating several thefts which occurred over the course of three days.

An Elmwood Drive resident called police just before 2 p.m. Sunday to report a burglary. The resident told police he had left the home at 8 a.m. and returned at 1 p.m. to find that a wooden cart had been moved below a bedroom window.

“The window was open, and a flat panel television was missing from the room,” said Community Relations Officer Earl Kinsey. The television was valued at $250, he said.

The Morris County Sheriff's Department processed the home for evidence, and the incident remains under investigation.

A similar incident occurred just one day prior in which a Macbook computer, a Vizio television, a Sony television and a bag of tools were taken from an apartment on Redstone Drive. The resident called police after returning home from work to find that the front door of the apartment had been pried open.

“The owner of the 2008 Honda CBR with an estimated value of $5,000 parked the bike in the lot on July 12 and placed the cover over it,” said Kinsey. “The motorcycle was stolen between July 12 and July 15.”
