Suspicious Truck Fire Under Investigation in Parsippany

Officers found the vehicle engulfed in flames last weekend.

A flatbed tow truck fire Saturday night has been deemed suspicious and police are currently investigating, according to Parsippany Police. A passerby called police about the incident.

"Sgt. Pomroy and Officer Marc Fernandez responded to the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Bridgeton Drive to investigate a report of a vehicle fire at 11:13 p.m," said Patrolman Earl Kinsey, a spokesman for the department. "The vehicle which had been parked and unattended, was fully engulfed in flames." 

The vehicle was later identified as a 2006 flatbed tow truck owned and operated by Peace of Mind Towing in Parsippany.

Lake Parsippany Fire District 3 responded and quickly put out the fire and there were no injuries reported. 

"The incident is considered suspicious and is currently being investigated by Officer David Cavaliere of the Parsippany Police Department," said Kinsey. "Officer Cavaliere is specially trained in arson investigations."
