Two Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

A Newark woman and Pompton Plains man were arrested on outstanding warrants between July 16 and July 23, police say.

The Parsippany Police Department made two warrant arrests between July 16 and July 23 after two separate incidents, police said.

A Parsippany officer pulled over Kristle Remak, 27 of Newark, for driving with a smashed windshield at 10:24 a.m. on July 16, said department spokesperson Patrolman Earl Kinsey.

She was found to have a warrant for her arrest issued out of the Caldwell Municipal Court in the amount of $500, he said.

Police officers were called to 7-Eleven on Tabor Road at 8:41 p.m. on July 23 on a call of a man walking around and yelling in the parking lot, said Kinsey.

Police identified the man as Fred Tonkin Jr., 51, of Pompton Plains and placed him under arrest when it was discovered he had a warrant out of the Municipal Court of Paterson in the amount of $500, he added.

“He was transported to Parsippany Police Headquarters where he was processed before being released pending an appearance in court,” said Kinsey.
