Door Smashed, K-9 Search Unsuccessful

Police unable to locate those responsible for breaking into Lake Shore Drive home Monday.

A search that included a K-9 unit was unsuccessful Monday night for those responsible for smashing a sliding door of a Lake Parsippany residence, said Wednesday.

The Morris County Sheriff's Department and its K-9 Division were brought in to help locate a suspect or suspects believed to have broken into a home on Lake Shore Drive Monday night at about 9:30 p.m., Parsippany Police spokesman Earl Kinsey said.

The homeowner told the officers that upon arriving home, a sliding glass door on the side of the house was found smashed, Kinsey said. The police officers entered the home and looked around, but did not find anyone inside, Kinsey said.

This led to a search of the area. Detectives from the Parsippany Police Department’s Investigative Division as well as officers from the Criminal Investigative Division and K-9 Division of the Morris County Sheriff’s Department came to the scene and combed the area in hopes of finding a potential suspect or suspects.

The search, however, was unsuccessful, according to police.
