Police Celebrate Citizen Graduates
Tenth citizen class graduates before department restructures its community outreach efforts.
On Nov. 10, the celebrated the 10th graduation class for its Citizen Police Academy. Since 2003, the department has offered the program, which teaches residents about police procedures, crime prevention techniques, neighborhood watch, school resource officers and motor vehicle stops.This event, held at 's Council Chambers, likely will be the last such ceremony for at least a while: The PPD, along with the mayor's office, will offer the new starting in January. This new inititative involves facilitatiing discussions in issues between township and law enforcement officials and town residents.
