Police Community Partnership Program Joins National Night Out

Local and county law enforcement and emergency responders will stand with citizens against crime at Mennen Arena Tuesday night.

The third will take place Tuesday evening as part of Morris County's 2012 National Night Out Against Crime. The event will be held at the Mennen Sports Arena in Morris Township from 5-8 p.m.

The evening is billed as America's Night Out Against Crime. Residents who attend will get to interface with Parsippany officers and emergency responders as well as with law enforcement and public safety personnel from across the county.

The anti-crime program will feature demonstrations of fire, rescue and emergency medical vehicles and apparatus along with educational offerings on public safety and minimizing crime.

There will be entertainment for all ages too, police said, and parents will have an opportunity to register for the National Child Identification program.

The National Night Out is designed to be a countrywide celebration of citizens standing with law enforcement against crime, Police Chief Anthony DeZenzo said in a statement.

"We want criminals to know that when you partner with us, they don't stand a chance," he said.

Refreshments including free hot dogs, desserts and soft drinks will be available.

The Mennen Arena is located at 161 Hanover Ave. in Morris Township.
