Police: Dehumidifier Possible Cause of House Fire

No injuries or significant damage to the residence.

A dehumidifier may have been the cause of a residential fire Thursday night on Brentford Street, Parsippany Police said.

There were no injuries or major damage; the house remains inhabitable.

Police said that the homeowner reported seeing a flash and smoke coming from the basement at about 7:45 p.m.

When police arrived, a crew from District 3 Fire Departments was already on the scene. District 1 and the ambulance squad also responded.

Fire personnel were able to extinguish the fire without major damage to the house.
