Police Investigate Break-in, Burglary at Liquor Store

Man reportedly takes $100 worth of liquor in early morning break-in.

Police are investigating a burglary at Shopper’s Discount Liquors at 69 N. Beverwyck Road.

Officer Damon Farms responded to the scene Monday morning at about 9 a.m., to investigate a criminal mischief report. The owner informed him that the glass on the lower half of the front door of the business had been smashed sometime during the night.

Further investigation revealed that at about 12:30 a.m. a white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt smashed the glass door with a hammer and entered the store, police said. The individual took three large bottles of liquor valued at $100 before leaving the way he entered—through the broken glass door, police said.
