The says an investigation is underway into two incidents in which copper plumbing pipes were reported stolen from residences. Police say the two occurrences may be connected.

The first call came Friday at around 4:13 p.m., according to police. Officer Paul Levi responded to a Huron Avenue residence to investigate a report that pipes were stolen from the home.

The homeowner there told Levi that her home had been vacant for some time. When she arrived to check on the house, the resident said she found someone had burglarized the building and had stolen all of the copper plumbing.

Three days later, police received word of a similar story.

Early Monday afternoon, Officers Joseph Kornas and Carlos Silva responded to Manchester Road to look into another burglary of copper pipes from an unoccupied home. This time, it was a real estate agent who called the authorities, not a homeowner. The agent noticed copper tubing missing from the home's furnace room and from the baseboard heating system.
