Police Probe New Year's Stabbing in Lake Hiawatha

Man found with laceration to the head and knife wound to the abdomen at intersection of North Beverwyck Road and Iroquois Avenue.

A man was assaulted and stabbed in the abdomen on a Lake Hiawatha street during the early-morning hours of New Year's Day, Parsippany Police said.

Officers found the man with a laceration on his head and a stab wound to his abdomen at the intersection of North Beverwyck Road and Iroquois Avenue just before 4 a.m. Wednesday.

He was treated and transported to Morristown Medical Center by Rockaway Neck Volunteer First Aid Squad. He was evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to a statement from Officer Earl Kinsey.

The incident is under investigation by the Parsippany Police Department’s Investigative Division and anyone with information regarding the incident or anyone who may have heard or seen suspicious activity in the area around that time should contact the Parsippany Police Department at 973-263-4300 or email Crime_Tips@parpolice.com.

Police are also investigating a robbery of the Shivam Travel Agency on Route 46 where an employee's head was held down as two men made off with $500 Monday night.
