Police Probe Sunday Auto Burglary Reports

Police said three of the cases involve stolen GPS units.

The  is investigating a string of auto burglaries that took place in the township last Sunday.

In three of the cases, police said a Garmin Nuvi GPS valued at $300 was reported stolen.

The reportedly victimized cars include:

  • A 2005 Honda Odyssey parked in the driveway of an Edgewater Place home; police said the car was left unlocked and missing a GPS system
  • A 1999 Ford parked in the driveway of a Lake Drive home; police said the car's GPS unit was reported taken from the glove box
  • A 2009 GMC Sierra parked in the driveway of a Lake Place home; this vehicle too was unlocked and missing a Garmin Nuvi, according to police, who said an unlocked 2003 Honda Civic at this location was also entered, but had nothing reported stolen
  • a 2012 Hyundai Elantra and a 2007 Elantra parked in the driveway of an Intervale Road home were entered, police said, but nothing was reported stolen from either vehicle, though the interior contents of the 2012 car were allegedly disturbed.

Police said investigations into the reported burglaries are ongoing.
