Police: Several Mailboxes Smashed With Bat

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact police.

The is investigating a number of criminal mischief cases involving damaged mailboxes that may have been vandalized with a baseball bat.

Police report Officer Michael Kimble responded to a Brooklawn Drive home Sunday at about 2:30 to look into a report of damage to a mailbox.

A resident told the officer that between 2 and 2:25 a.m., the mailbox had been smashed. Police said Kimble saw four other homes with maliboxes damaged.

According to police, the mailboxes appear to have been bashed with a baseball bat.

This appears not to be the first such incident. Police said two Sioux Avenue homes reported damage to curbside mailboxes Friday morning. In those incidents, according to law enforcement, the mailboxes appeared to have been pushed over.
