Police: Texas Fugitive Arrested in Parsippany

The following arrest information was supplied by the Parsippany Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The say a Texas man awaits extradition to his home state after being cited in the township for various alleged offenses including drug possession.

Police said Officer Paul Levi was patrolling Route 46 East Wednesday at about 8 p.m. when he saw a 2008 Mazda with Texas license plates drive over the grass median onto the westbound side of the street.

Levi pulled over the car, which was driven by Jarrod Michael Feldt, 31, of Houston.

During a brief investigation, the officer discovered Feldt was a wanted in  Texas for a parole violation.

In a search of Feldt’s Mazda, Levi found four uncapped hypodermic syringes, a small quantity of suspected marijuana, rolling papers and a piece of a pipe believed to contained the burnt residue of suspect marijuana as well as a quantity of new hypodermic syringes and an open container of alcohol.

Police gave Feldt summonses for failure to wear a seatbelt, crossing a median, careless driving, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicles, possession of controlled dangerous substances and failure to signal a turn. The Texan was also charged criminally with possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringes.

Feldt is currently being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown and waiting to be sent back to Texas.
