Police: Two Cars Burglarized at Sheraton Hotel

Route 46 apartment broken into; Byram man charged with DWI.

Two motor vehicles were reported burglarized at the parking lot last week, said Tuesday.

According to police, one burglary occurred on Thursday sometime in the afternoon or evening when a GPS TomTom unit, sunglasses, a prescription bottle of medication and several pieces of identification were stolen from a 2009 Toyota pickup truck. The police did not detect any forced entry into the vehicle.

The second burglary occured on Friday sometime between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Police said forced entry was gained into a 1995 Ford van. Various tools with an approximate value of $550 were reported missing.

Other Parsippany Police reports:

Parsippany detectives and an investigator from the Morris County Criminal Investigative Section responded to a burglary that occured sometime between the morning and evening hours on Thursday in an apartment on Route 46. The police reported that there was no sign of forced entry, but several windows were left open and a Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Xbox, along with some games, were reported stolen.

Ronnie S. Botha, 44, of Byram, was charged with DWI after a two-car crash near Route 202 and the Reservoir Tavern restaurant after a two-car crash Thursday night at about 11:15 p.m., police said. Botha, who was driving a 2008 Volkswagon, was also issued a summons for careless driving after he allegedly crossed a double-yellow line and crashed into a driver operating a 1999 Dodge, according to the police. No injuries were reported and Botha was released into the custody of a friend, police said.
