UPDATE: Power Back for More than 700, JCP&L Says

Utility company says storms likely caused electrical outage that affected customers along Route 10 and in spots throughout Parsippany and Morris Plains.

The lights are on again after Tuesday afternoon's thunderstorm knocked power out for some in the area of Littleton Road/Route 202 and Route 10, according to Jersey Central Power and Light.

The JCP&L website, as of 6:15 p.m., reported that no outages are being reported in Parsippany or Morris Plains.

When the outage was first reported at about 5 p.m., 726 Parsippany residents were affected, according to the utility, as well as 46 in Morris Plains.

While the majority of those affected were along the Route 10 corridor, outages were reported in numerous spots around Parsippany, including headquarters on Route 46.

You may want to ensure that you have a flashlight and batteries: Thunderstorms may continue into the night, according to the National Weather Service.
