Prostitution Sting Nets 3 Arrests at Howard Johnson Inn

An investigation led to the Parsippany police special enforcement unit action.

Parsippany police made three prostitution arrests Wednesday after an undercover sting operation at the Howard Johnson Express Inn at 625 Route 46. 

Gabriel A. Rios-Leon, 20, of Rockaway was charged with promoting prostitution. He is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option, police spokesperson Sgt. Yvonne Christiano said.

Shannon Owens, 21, of New York City was charged with soliciting prostitution after she offered to perform sexual acts with an undercover officer in exchange for $120, Christiano said.

The woman also faces charges of possession of controlled dangerous substances (Xanax, oxycontin, marijuana) and had numerous outstanding arrest warrants, among them a no-bail fugitive warrant, Christiano said. Owens was turned over to the Morris County Fugitive Unit.

Also arrested was Nicole Evans, 18, of New York City, who offered sex to an undercover officer in exchange of $100, Christiano said. Evans was released on her own recognizance.
