Home Burglarized While Resident Left for 2 Hours

This Renault Drive home break-in is the most recent in an ongoing series of burglaries in town.

Another Parsippany home break in occurred last Thursday.

The homeowner, a 76-year-old woman, was gone for less than two hours when she returned home to find her Renault Drive residence "in disarray," Parsippany Police said.

She told officers Gianni Cacioppo and Theodore Anderson she was gone from 11:45 a.m to 1:30 p.m. Police investigation showed her home was entered by breaking the glass on the back door

Drawers, cabinets and closets were rummaged through, but it was not immediately known if anything was taken, police said.

An unidentified white man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, smoking a cigarette, was seen near the home during the time of the burglary, but it’s not known if he was connected to the burglary, according to a release from Officer Remo D’Alessandro, community relations officer.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigative Division came to process the scene and Parsippany Police Detective Edward Conklin of the Investigative Division is currently investigating the incident.
