Responders Fight Second Brush Fire in Two Days

Police say a fire near the Mountain Club complex with quickly put out with no injuries.

report emergency responders made quick work of extinguishing a brush fire early Tuesday morning at the Mountain Club complex at 2467 Route 10 East. This was the second brush fire reported in two days.

According to police, Officer Thomas Dinkelspiel observed a fire burning approximately 50 yards from the far side of the fence line that encloses the complex's pool.

Responders from the quickly arrived at the location laying hose line downhill from Guilford Court, police said.   was also on the scene; police say LPFD crews set up a fire break to prevent the blaze from continuing toward the apartments. Meanwhile, PPD officers reportedly set up a perimeter around the area and began to evacuate residents out of buildings 19, 20 and 21.

Police said other agencies helped as well: Lake Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance workers were on location providing emergency medical support for firefighters, and department spokesperson Ptlm. Earl Kinsey said provided necessary lighting and logistical support to the firefighting effort.

Kinsey said the fire scorched an area of 50 x 100 yards and was extinguished in less than one hour. Residents were then allowed back into their homes.

"Thanks to all of the efforts put forth by Parsippany’s emergency responders, none of the residences were damaged and there were no injuries reported," according to Kinsey.

This brush fire incident was the second such event to occur in that area in two days. The and was also quickly extinguished by emergency responders.
