Responders Quickly Tame Mountain Lakes Brush Fire

No injuries were involved in the incident, police said.

officers, the Mountain Lakes Police Department and responders from two area volunteer fire companies were at the scene of a Monday afternoon brush fire on Route 46 in Mountain Lakes just outside of Parsippany.

A police officer on the scene across from TGI Friday's told Patch that the hot, dry weather likely contributed to the midday blaze. He said the fire lit up an area about 50 by 20 feet and was knocked down quickly by firefighters.

The Mountalin Lakes and Parsippany's departments took charge of bringing the fire under control and then soaking the area with water to ensure that any sparks were extinguished.

The fire is under investigation at this time, police said.
