The following arrest information was supplied by the Parsippany Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 22-year-old Parsippany resident faces charges for drinking while intoxicated and reckless driving after being arrested following a motor vehicle crash near South Beverwyck Road early Saturday morning, say police.

An accident report brought Officer Marc Fernandez and Sgt. Thomas Pomroy to the area of South Beverwyck Road and Alan Drive to investigate. said they saw an Audi A4 with heavy rear end damage sitting in the middle of the road, which was scattered with debris and some of the contents of the vehicle.

The vehicle, driven by Daniel Barros, ran into a mailbox and a utility pole, said police spokesperson Ptlm. Earl Kinsey.

After their investigation, officers arrested Barros, who ultimately was released pending a court appearance.

Kinsey said that for safety reasons, South Beverwyck Road was closed from Troy Road to Barbara Street for a time due to the instability of the broken utility pole.
