More Snow Expected, Likely to Impact Tuesday Morning's Commute

Keep those snow brushes out, another winter storm headed our way.

The icing threat of the storm that moved through Morris County Sunday night and lingered through the early morning hours Monday morning is gone, but Mother Nature is reloading for another wallop expected Tuesday.

The kicker?

According to the Morris County Office of Emergency Management, they are anticipating a snow start time for the morning commute.

"Our new focus will be on the storm expected tomorrow," said Jeff Paul of the Office of Emergency Management.  "Early reports suggest an all-snow event with temps in the 20s."

Paul said at this early stage it is expected to begin in earnest around rush hour and continue throughout the day.

"The weather data that we have reviewed thus far suggests that we can expect flurries to begin shortly before sunrise tomorrow morning, with heavier snow beginning by 8 a.m.," Paul said.

Paul said expectations are a 1/2-inch of snow fall an hour through noon before it begins to taper off.

"Snow should cut off by about 5 p.m. after 2 to 5 inches of new accumulation," Paul said. "This information could change as we get closer to the event."

The Office of Emergency Management said they would be monitoring the storm track throughout the day and Patch will update this post as more information comes in.
