Security Alarm Tips Off Cops to Commercial Burglary

Lake Hiawatha man charged with burglary, criminal mischief in alleged incident on Pomeroy Road.

A Lake Hiawatha man was caught breaking into a Pomeroy Road business Saturday night, Parsippany Police said.

William Millette, 47, has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief and defiant trespass.

According to Earl Kinsey, a spokesman for the Parsippany Police Department, officers Alfred Keiser and Thomas Armenti responded to an activated security alarm shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The officers found a broken window and an unsecured door near the building's loading dock entrance, Kinsey said.

Kinsey said Keiser checked the area surrounding the business and found an unoccupied vehicle with a warm hood in the parking lot near a wooded area. He said a search led the officers to Millette, who was about 100 feet away from the vehicle.

Millette is being held at the Morris County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, Kinsey said.
