State of Emergency Still in Effect After Sandy

A ban on motor vehicle traffic on township roadways also is still in effect.

A state of emergency is in effect in the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills.

A motor vehicle band on roadways is still in effect. Parsippany-Troy Hills police said residents in need of food or fuel for generators should use extreme caution, if it is necessary to leave home for these items.

Officers said residents should drive only during daylight hours as many roads remain impassable and some traffic signals are without power.

Officers also warn that there are many live electrical lines still down in lanes of travel and large older trees continue to fall due to damage that they received during the storm.

Police said they will lift the vehicle ban when it is safe to do so.
