The purpose of the tour is to raise awareness and financial support for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Every year, the names of officers killed in the line of duty are added to a stone memorial in Washington, D.C. Families of the fallen officers hear their loved ones' names called during a candlelight vigil held at the memorial after the tour arrives.

The release says the memorial assures the friends and families of fallen officers that their loved ones' sacrifices will be remembered.
