Hit-and-Run Driver Sought After Causing Vehicle to Overturn

Driver of Volkswagen suffered minor injuries in Wednesday incident at the corner of North Beverwyck Road and Ball Avenue.

Police are looking for the driver of a hit-and-run SUV that struck another vehicle, causing it to flip over Wednesday night.

Officer Robert Smolen saw a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta at the southwest corner of the intersection of North Beverwyck Road and Ball Avenue flipped when he arrived at about 6:45 p.m.

The driver said he was going south on North Beverwyck Road when a dark-colored SUV made a left turn onto North Beverwyck Road from Crown Point Road. The SUV hit the driver’s side door of the Jetta, which flipped over and hit a fence before coming to rest on its roof, police said.Dri

Police said the dark-colored SUV left without stopping and the driver of the Jetta had minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital.
