Thief Jumps Fence, Escapes Police
Parsippany police are seeking information from the public following a residential burglary.
A man evaded police by jumping a fence after allegedly rummaging through bedroom dressers in an Allentown Road home, police said.
Officer Jason Ferreira and Sgt. Gene Natoli were called to the residence on a report of a suspicious person at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday, July 31.
Two people told the officers they saw a heavy-set white male, about 5'8” tall, in his early 20s and wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a dark hat in their backyard.

The suspect then jumped over a fence in the yard and ran north on Centerton Drive, police said.
“Additional responding patrol units set up a perimeter in the area, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit responded to the scene, but they were unable to locate the suspect,” said Parsippany Community Relations Officer Earl Kinsey.
