Tire Slasher Charged With Criminal Mischief, Cops Say

Massachusetts man is being held at Morris County Correctional Facility in default of $2,500 bail.

A Massachusetts resident is being held at Morris County Correctional Facility for allegedly slashing the tires on another man's vehicle, Parsippany Police.

Faurry A. Villatoro, 34 of Bedford, Mass., was charged with criminal mischief and is being held in default of $2,500 bail with no 10 percent option.

The incident took place Wednesday just before 4:30 p.m., when the owner of a 2005 GMC truck walked into the Wendy's restaurant at 736 Route 46. The man entered the eatery and made eye contact with Villatoro, who allegedly made a comment to the victim, police said. The nature of the comment was not disclosed by police.

The man ignored Villatoro's comment, but when he later left Wendy's, he found three of his truck’s tires were deflated, and the front passenger side tire and both of the double tires on the rear passenger side were cut, police said.

Total damage to the vehicle was estimated at $600, according to police.

Christiano said Villatoro's vehicle, a blue 2003 Audi, was parked in front of the victim’s truck.  Villatoro, who was observed getting up from behind the victim’s truck, got into his car and drove away, Christiano said.

Officer Paul Levi was able to locate Villatoro and his vehicle in a nearby motel and the victim identified him, police said.
