Truck Fire Closes Littleton Road for Over Three Hours

Police say the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A garbage truck fire shut down Littleton Road for much of Tuesday afternoon.

The Parsippany Police Department said a sanitation truck caught fire at about noon at the intersection of Littleton Road and Marston Drive. Crews from the Lake Parsippany District 3 Fire Co. were called to the scene and remained until the fire was extinguished.

No injuries were reported, but acrid smoke could be seen and smelt, likely caused by overhead lines that melted from the heat of the blaze.
