Police: Residents Foil Burglary Attempt

The following arrest information was supplied by the Parsippany Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two Carteret men face burglary charges after being arrested in Parsippany on Tuesday, according to the Parsippany Police Department.

Ptlm. Earl Kinsey reported that the department's Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a home on Tremley Court t about 1:30 p.m. Residents there reportedly told police that a man knocked on the front door, rang the doorbell and ran off, fleeing the area in a white car.

Acting Deputy Police Chief Paul Philipps and officers James Auriemma, Patrick McCarthy, Michael Ruggiero and Matt LaManna responded to the scene. During their investigation, officers discovered a broken window pane on the back door of the Tremley Court home and a backyard gate left open.

Police found and stopped the white car carrying the suspects on the Littleton Spur near the intersection of Marmora Road and the Interstate 80 East on-ramp. The vehicle's occupants were identified as Jamaine Vazquez, 35, and Nelson Feliciano Jr., 36 both of Carteret.

Vazquez was arrested and charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglar tools and criminal mischief and had bail set at $7,500. Feliciano, who also faces $1,117 in outstanding warrants from Millburn and Newark, was arrested and charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglar tools. Bail for Feliciano was set at $10,000.

Both Vasquez and Feliciano were remanded to the Morris County Jail in lieu of bail.
