Two Burglaries, Two Vehicle Break-Ins in Two Days

Route 10 condo and Radio Shack burglarized; vehicles broken into at apartment complex.

are investigating two burglaries—one at a condo on Route 10 and another at a business of Route 46—and two motor vehicle break-ins at an apartment complex that all occurred in a span of two days.

According to police, a resident returned home to a condo on Route 10, near Tabor Road, and found the master bedroom ransacked Friday evening. The incident occurred sometime between 1 and 5 p.m., police said. A laptop valued at approximately $1,000 was reported missing, police said.

Forced entry was gained through a window of the ground-floor unit, according to Sgt. Yvonne Christiano.

An investigator from the Morris County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigation Section processed the scene, police said.

On Saturday, the Radio Shack at 1151 Route 46 was reported burglarized when an employee arrived for work. The incident occurred sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning, police said.

According to police, forced entry was made through a rear door. About 60 pre-paid cell phones and a 22-inch Hitachi flat screen TV valued at $300 were reported stolen, police said. The total loss was estimated at $2,000, police said.

Police are also investigating two motor vehicle burglaries that were reported Saturday at the Knoll Gardens apartment complex.

According to police, an unlocked 2001 Mercedes Benz parked in the complex on Mara Road was broken into sometime during the overnight hours and a JVC portable DVD player valued at $200 was reported stolen.

A 1994 Toyota parked in the complex on Dafrack Drive was also reported burglarized Saturday, police said. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle where a Dell laptop computer valued at $600 was reported missing, police said.

The two vehicle break-ins are considered to be related, Christiano said.
