Two New York Men Busted for Pot Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Parsippany Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Parsippany Police said two New York men were arrested after found allegedly smoking marijuana in a parked car in the early morning hours of Oct. 30.

According to department spokesperson Sgt. Yvonne Christiano, Shmuel Schochez, 21, of Brooklyn, and 49-year-old Angelo Peluso of the Bronx face charges of possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

While on patrol in the area of the Green Hill Shopping Center on Parsippany Road at approximately 1:39 a.m., Officer Michael Sprung saw two men allegedly smoking pot in a vehicle sitting alone in the strip mall's parking lot, police said.

Schochez and Peluso were found to have suspected marijuana, a “grinder” and plastic packaging in their possession, Christiano said, and were arrested.

The suspects were released on their own recognizance pending a court date.
