Two Weekend Alcohol-Related Arrests in the Township

The following arrest information was supplied by the Parsippany Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of an Orange man on May 28. Police spokesperson Ptlm. Earl Kinsey reported that Officer Jeffrey Papienuk saw a car swerving in and out of its lane as it traveled along Route 46 East. The officer pulled the car over near Vail Road and questioned the driver, who was identified as 31-year-old Christopher Cox. The suspect was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. Cox was also cited for driving a car with "non-functioning lamps." The man was released and awaits a court appearance.

In a separate case, a New York man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident at the Parsippany Hilton on Sunday, said Ptlm. Earl Kinsey. Officer Jason Ferreira reportedly saw an apparently irate and intoxicated George Theodoropoulos, 30, yelling obscenities at a woman at the hotel. Theodoropoulos was transported to police headquarters and later released pending a court date.
