DPW Worker Accused of Stealing Tires, Rims From Locked Garage

Joseph Fedo, a Parsippany resident, faces burglary, theft and official misconduct charges.

A Parsippany resident and Department of Public Works employee is due in court Wednesday after being arrested last month for allegedly stealing four truck tires and rims from a municipal garage.

Joseph Fedo, 57, has been charged with burglary, theft, and official misconduct for the alleged crime, dailyrecord.com reported.

An investigation began on Jan. 2 when town mechanics noticed the tires and rims in question—valued at $5,600—were missing, the report said. Surveillance videos connected Fedo to the alleged theft, which took place on Saturday, Dec. 28.

The videos showed a vehicle that may have been Fedo’s arriving to the locked municipal garage at 6:30 a.m. that day, though employees do not begin their shift until 8 a.m., the report said.

Fedo was arrested and posted $5,000 bail.
