UPDATED: Latest Par-Troy Road Closures

With the receding of waters in lower Hiawatha, a number of formerly closed roads are now open to residents.

The Parsippany Police Department says a number of area roads remain closed in the wake of Hurricane Irene. The good news is that the list of shut-down streets is considerably smaller than it was yesterday.

  • Exit 47 on Rt. 80 Closed
  • Entire length of New Rd. including intersection at Old Bloomfield
  • South Edwards Rd.
  • Rt. 46 East at South Beverwyck Rd.
  • Rt. 46 West Closed at New Rd.
  • Vail Rd. Closed at Edwards Rd. (Edwards Rd. still Accessible)

Police spokesperson Ptlm. Earl Kinsey said in a statement that Old Bloomfield Avenue and Edwards Road are now open.

Additionally, streets in lower Lake Hiawatha closed due to extensive flooding have been re-opened to residents only. Police say you must show a photo ID to gain entrance.
