What you need to know to vote in the 2012 general election in Parsippany

Position Description

There are 80 members of the New Jersey General Assembly, the lower house of the state legislature. Two members are elected from each of the state's 40 legislative districts. Membership in the Assembly is considered a part-time job. Assembly members serve two-year terms, elected every odd-numbered year in November.   

This year, there is one open seat for the election. One of the two candidates is an incumbent running for re-election.
