Welcome to a new week sure to be filled with challenges and many things to do. Here are some things to be aware of for the week to come.

  1. Reorganization continues within Parsippany-Troy Hills government this week. Monday night will include the first meeting of 2012. It's an opportunity to meet new mayoral appointees to the board and, during the regular meeting that follows, see how the town's master plan will fare in the new year. The board gathers at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers at . Make a new resolution to get to know your government, how it works and the people involved. After all, from Mayor Barberio through the men and women sitting on governmental boards and committees, these folks work for you.
  2. The works for you too. The body, now led by newly elected President Brian Stanton and Vice President Vincent Ferrara, meets for its regular session Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The council has a full agenda of items, including getting final approvals for such as re-upping the professional services arrangement with Township Attorney John Inglesino and . Also on the agenda: a to cover a budget shortfall at the club. The meeting takes place at public is invited to attend and to participate. Finding herself straddled between two different worlds, the young girl ultimately has to choose sides.   5. Faith communities of differing traditions come together to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Friday night. The features five local choirs raising their voices in song to celebrate the life of the slain civil rights leader: the choir, the bell choir of  ,  youth choir, choir of  and  choir.
