New Town Auditor Appointed, Chief Judge Named for New Year

Traffic Advisory Committee member also appointed at council meeting.

A switch was made at Tuesday night’s Parsippany-Troy Hills Council meeting.

Last week, the council was under the impression there was an opening in the Open Space committee. However, that was not the case and Nancy Snyder, who was nominated for that committee, was moved to the Traffic Advisory Committee instead.

For appointments on the agenda, a heated debate over possible conflicts of interest tabled the appointment of John Inglesino as township attorney. Anthony J. Frese was unanimously appointed to Chief Municipal Judge but Gerald P. Scala’s appointment to Municipal Court Judge failed because no one seconded the motion.

Before the resolution to award the township auditor contract to Nisivoccia, LLP, was approved unanimously, Councilman Michael dePierro said that although he planned to vote in favor of the resolution, he didn’t feel it was right to not have notified the current auditor, Samuel Klein and Co.

DePierro said it would be “appropriate to notify our current auditor that he will not be not be considered as an auditor.”

Councilman Robert Peluso echoed dePierro’s statement, “We should notify the existing auditing firm, they are a good firm.”

The council also unanimously approved a new limousine license for Royal American Taxi & Limo, LLC and an amendment to a resolution that authorized a liquor license for Wine Amphorae Wines and Liquors, LLC.
